Getting There
Leave the A3(M) at Junction 2 and at the roundabout take the B2149 signed Havant, Northbound 3rd exit, Southbound 1st exit. This is Havant Road.
After a 30mph sign, turn right to enter the car park – unsigned.
Return to A3(M) Junction 2
Turn left out of the car park.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit signed London A3(M) to rejoin the motorway.
Forest of Bere
This is Forestry Commission land, and a doggy delight.
Leave the car park and head away from the road into the thicket on one of the small paths. The path will quickly link up with a broader track that leads through the woodland, with many exciting diversions to the left and right.
There is no specific route here, as the well-maintained paths are in extremely good condition and very easy to follow.
The wood is popular with local dog-owners, and a particularly friendly bunch they are too. On the day of our visit, in the pouring rain, both owners and dogs were highly sociable and pleased to welcome new visitors. We didn't see anyone without their canine companion.
