Dargate – The Dove, Plum Pudding Lane

Length of walk - 1.5 miles or longer
With The Dove at your back, walk up the lane until the start of a Bridleway on the right hand bend, just after Elm Tree Cottage. Follow the path as it winds uphill into the woods, and don't forget to look back for a view of the Thames Estuary and the sea beyond.
The path is marked with blue waymarkers, and is very clear to follow. In Spring the wood is full of rabbits, squirrels and birdsong.
Continue as far as suits you, and then turn to retrace your steps.
Wellie warning!
The first part of the path tends to get very muddy in wet weather.
Facilities

The Dove provides exceptionally tasty food, and clearly has a loyal clientele from Kent and beyond. The food is Egon Ronay recommended, and acknowledged in the Michelin Food Guide too. Despite so much glory, the prices are not over the top, and the atmosphere is genuinely welcoming. Dogs are allowed in the bar, and there is also seating outside.
