Getting There
Leave the M3 at Junction 3 and take the A322 Guildford, Southbound 1st exit, northbound 3rd exit.
At the roundabout, take the A322 Guildford, A3046 Woking exit, making sure you are in the right hand lane, and almost immediately take the sliproad to the right, signed Lightwater Country Park.
Turn right at the brown sign to Lightwater Country Park, this is ‘The Avenue'.
The entrance to Lightwater is at the end of this road – watch out for the monstrous speed bumps.
Return to M3 Junction 3
Leave the park along The Avenue. Turn right at the T-junction on to the dual carriageway. After 100 yards or so you'll be back at the roundabout to rejoin the M3.
Lightwater Country Park
Starting from the visitor centre are trails of varying lengths taking you through the park. The paths are surfaced, so these are walks for all weathers and all shoes.
Maps are available from the centre, and are well worth picking up as some of the signs along the trails are a bit confusing.
There's a choice of yellow, white or blue routes which take you through grassland meadows, heath and woodland. Also a lakeside walk.
Facilities
Free car parks – close at dusk. WC is near the car park on the right, past the visitor centre. Children's play area near car park on the left, and the third car park at the end of the road is near the leisure centre, with refreshments.
Dog poo bins throughout the park.
