Getting There

Leave the M4 at Junction 4 and at the exit roundabout take the A408 Uxbridge, Eastbound 1st exit, Westbound 3rd exit. Follow signs for ‘All other routes'. Then quickly take the 1st left signed Harmondsworth.
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit signed A3044 Harmondsworth, Staines and pass a garden centre (with a pet shop) on the left hand side.
At the mini-roundabout go straight on.
Enter Harmondsworth. At the mini-roundabout take the 2nd exit, No Through Road, onto the High Street. There is free parking in bays on the High Street.
Return to M4 Junction 4
Leave Harmondsworth on the High Street and at the mini-roundabout take the 2nd exit.
At the next mini-roundabout take the 2nd exit signed M4.
At the roundabout take the 2nd exit signed M4 and stay in the left hand lane signed All Other Routes.
Then turn right as signed to return to the motorway.
Harmondsworth Moor
Length of walk: 30-35 minutes
Harmondsworth seems to be a village that the 21st century has forgotten, and it's a very relaxing spot for a walk.
Take the lane to the left of the Five Bells, Moor Lane, and walk down here ignoring all other turnings.
Just after Moorland Road there is a Public Footpath sign. Follow this direction to cross the bridge and then there is a choice of turning to the left or the right.
The left turning goes just 700 metres to the South Bridge. However, the landscaped lake in front of a futuristic office building is ideal for over-heated dogs in need of a quick splash. Do watch out for the swans though, as they obviously associate humans with food and move in quickly.
The turning to the right gives more space for doggy romping, and some creative park management has been at work here so that there are facilities to suit a range of visitors and interests. There are stiles and gates leading into the surrounding woodland as well as the large park area, but we didn't explore these.
Facilities
The Five Bells welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads in the front bar and at the outside tables. Dog poo bins in Harmondsworth Moor.
