Canalside Walk

Unless you happen to have a keen interest in Black Country industry, this walk is something of a ‘got to stop now' walk for desperate dogs. That said, the canal is a real pleasure to walk along. The water is clean, water lilies decorate the surface with their aristocratic blooms, and the banks of the canal are alive with a variety of wildlife, happily out of canine reach.
However, it cannot be denied that the parking is on-road, in a glum 60's industrial estate, although it seemed safe enough when we were there.
Leave Hainge Road , turn left and cross the bridge to take the pathway down to the towing path. We turned right, leaving Fisher's Bridge behind us, and enjoyed a brisk early morning stroll along the well-kept towing path.
Facilities
There are no facilities near the canal, but you will pass a McDonalds outlet on each of the first two roundabouts of the route to the canal.
