Getting There

Woodgate Valley Country Park

Leave the M5 at Junction 3, taking the road signed Kidderminster A456, Stourbridge A491. Southbound 3rd exit, Northbound 1st exit.

After entering Halesowen, take the 1st left (unsigned) down Lapal Lane South. Turn left just before the No Through Road sign and drive over the motorway.

At the crossroads turn right and then take the 1st exit from the roundabout towards South Woodgate.

The entrance to Woodgate Valley Country Park is on the left, just before the signpost to the park.

Return to M5 Junction 3

Turn right out of the park and retrace your route as far as the A456, where you have to turn left. Continue to the roundabout at the bottom of the hill and double back to reach the motorway.

Map of M5 Junction 3 Walk

A handy brochure available from the Visitor Centre gives details of three walks, and walkers are free to roam away from the trails too.

The trails are clearly marked and the paths kept in good condition, although you will need wellies in wet weather.

This is gentle, green rolling countryside and it is hard to imagine that the heart of Birmingham is not so very far away.
