Map of M5 Junction 7 Walk

Length of walk: 35-60 minutes

Bear to the left of the visitor centre where there is a wooden sign pointing towards the start of the woodland trail.

Walk up the track and turn left at the waymarker to enter the woods. Two trails start here – the Woodland Trail, and the Meadows Trail. Trying to get the best of both trails, we set off in a different direction and then discovered that it is possible to enjoy a fine circular walk around these woods without any navigational difficulty.

There are some tree sculptures which can surprise, and rustic benches placed with fine views.

Paths are well maintained here and provide easy walking around this fully accessible route.

There are also a number of helpfully placed information boards providing interesting background detail to the walk. Apparently, present day Nunnery Wood was once cultivated by Cistercian nuns, who must have been pretty brawny to win a living from this land.
