Map of M6 Junction 12 Walk

This is a magnificent walk over the lower reach of Cannock Chase.

The land is criss-crossed with paths and the heathland means it is easy to navigate this large expanse of open space.

From the car park, follow one of the paths away from the road to find yourself at the beginning of this extensive area of doggy delight.

No directions are necessary, as essentially the paths leading away from the car park incline gently upward, and so to return to the car park you head gently downward.

There is enough land here to walk for as little or as long as you wish.

Facilities

Shoal Hill Car Park

Free car park (closes at dusk), with height restriction.

At The Tumbledown Farm Carvery (WS11 1RU) Tel: 01543 500891. Well-behaved dogs on leads are permitted at a limited number of tables inside, at the discretion of the manager. It is strongly advisable to telephone before you arrive to book one of the dog tables. Dog water is provided. This is a very dog-friendly establishment, but unfortunately the reservation system is now in place because of a recent incident with a poorly controlled dog.
