Getting There

Leave the M18 at Junction 6 and turn into the narrow No Through Road, Waterside Road. Northbound 1st exit, Southbound 4th exit.
Follow the road round to the left to park in the John Bull Inn car park (if using the pub) or in the roadside parking bays.
Return to M18 Junction 6
Leave the village along Waterside Road and rejoin the motorway at the roundabout.
Waterside walk

Length of walk: 45-60 minutes
Leave the car park and walk round to the front to the pub and continue in this direction along the short lane. At the last house take the track to the right of the post and then turn right at the stile and Public Footpath sign. Keep walking with the water to the right on a pleasant grassy track and over a couple more stiles. All the stiles have spaces for dogs to get round or under.
At the end of the watery ditch walk up the bank on the right and turn right on a raised path that runs at the side of a large flood plain, giving dogs a huge amount of space to run in.
Stay on this path and pass the John Bull over on the other side of the bank. At the end of the village the path leads to a 5-bar gate. Go over the stile here and turn right onto a track that leads back to the starting point.
Facilities

At the John Bull Inn. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome inside, and dog water is available. This is a popular local pub, with an appetising menu and friendly atmosphere. Look out for the posters for Thomas Crapper’s early water closets on the wall, Mr Crapper was born in this village – which was once a very lively stopping point on the waterways to Grimsby.
