Getting There

Leave the M20 at Junction 6 and follow signs to the A229, signed Maidstone.
At the Running Horse roundabout follow signs to Aylesford and Cobtree Manor Park.
The park entrance is opposite the Travis Perkins Number 1 gate, where the café is signed but not the park itself.
Return to M20 Junction 6
Turn left out of the car park, and the short distance to the M20 is clearly signed from the Running Horse roundabout.
Cobtree Manor Park

Length of walk: 35 minutes or longer
This is very stylish parkland, gifted to the people of Maidstone.
Leaving the car park and bearing slightly to the right will bring you to an imposing, but functionless, set of gates with lush open spaces beyond. This part of the park was once a zoo, and the decaying remains of the elephant house are a poignant reminder of animals in captivity.
If pathos isn't your thing, head in the opposite direction with the café behind you to the larger part of the park.
