Getting There

Leave the M20 at Junction 10 taking the A20, signed Hythe. At the next roundabout turn left, signed hospital.
At the junction, turn right to drive past the hospital and continue on this road past Hinxhill village until reaching Wye.
In Wye, follow the road system to emerge onto Coldharbour Lane. Stay on this lane to climb up to the top of the ridge of Wye Downs. Park in the first (and only) marked parking area on the left.
Return to M20 Junction 10
Turn right out of the car park and return to Wye. In Wye, follow the road system round to the left, and turn left to return down Oxenturn Road . Stay on this road, passing first Hinxhill and then the hospital. At the junction, turn left and continue to the roundabout, where you turn right to rejoin the A20. This leads back to the M20.
Wye – Millstone Nature Trail

Cross the road and go through the wooden swing gates. At the start of the walk there are panoramic views over the valley known as the Devil's Kneading Trough, and on a clear day the vista is breathtaking.
There are some steep slopes to do on this route – also breathtaking.
An information board at the gate describes the ‘Millstone Nature trail' and this 4km route is well signed throughout.
Seriously though, if you find hills difficult, let the dog run around in the well fenced-off field at the start of the route while you take in the view.
Facilities

Free car park opposite start of walk. (Marked with a viewpoint symbol on some road maps).
The much praised Devil's Kneading Trough Restaurant is in nearby Hastingleigh (TN25 5HE) and well worth a visit for a cream tea or something more substantial if you complete the full walk. It's a sophisticated establishment, where your dog might feel more comfortable having a snooze in the car, and booking is a good idea for full meals (01233 813212).
