Getting There
Sat Nav: RH10 3RD
Leave the M23 at Junction 10 and take the A264 signed Crawley, East Grinstead, northbound 3rd exit, southbound 1st exit.
On reaching the roundabout on the outskirts of Copthorne, take the 1st exit signed Copthorne Village.
At the T-junction, turn left onto The Green, then take the 1st right onto Church Road.
The safest parking seems to be by St John the Evangelist Church, in Church Road.
Return to M23 Junction 10
You can turn your car around and retrace your route to the M3.
Alternatively, continue to the end of Church Road and turn left. At the next junction, turn left again onto Copthorne Bank.
When you reach the T-junction, turn left onto Brookhill Road, signed Crawley.
At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the A264, signed Crawley. Continue along the A264 until you reach junction 10 of the M23.
Copthorne
Length of walk: approx one mile
Walk uphill around the churchyard, cross over the road and turning left onto Copthorne Bank. Just before the medical surgery follow the Footpath sign pointing you to the right. Follow this track past the left side of Stonelands Cottage and through the metal swing gate by a yellow waymark sign.
Follow this path to the gate ahead.
Climb over the stile and walk through the next field with the hedge to your right until reaching a gate on your right. Go through this into the next field, there is a somewhat dishevelled waymark sign on the post, and head towards the barn of the farm ahead. Walk through the field in the direction of the farm, and then turn and retrace your steps to your car.
