Getting There
Westbound route only
Leave the M27 at Junction 1 and take the 1st exit at the roundabout, signed New Forest. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit signed A337 Lymington, Lyndhurst.
Turn right, signed Minstead into Furzey Gardens. Take the next right, unsigned, and the car park is on the right.
Return to M27 Junction 1
Turn left from the car park. At the T-junction turn left, signed Cadnam, Bartley. At the next T-junction turn left, signed A337 Cadnam.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit to rejoin the M27.
Shave Wood – New Forest Walk
This is a quiet and little visited part of the New Forest, where dogs can romp without the restraints of human civilisation.
There are no marked footpaths, just small tracks running amongst the trees in Britain's premier forest.
The tranquillity of walking amongst the native trees is a joy.
Although the ground is mainly soft grass, wellies are definitely an advantage in wet weather.
