Getting There
Sat Nav: PO15 7LJ
Leave the M27 at Junction 9 to follow signs to Whiteley, Outlet shopping, Solent Business Park, Eastbound 2nd exit, Westbound 4th exit.
At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, signed Outlet Shopping, this is Whiteley Way.
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit to enter the Whiteley Outlet Shopping Village.
Park as near to the entrance as possible in the green area.
Return to M27 Junction 9
Leave the shopping village and take the 2nd exit at this roundabout, signed M27.
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit signed M27 to rejoin the motorway.
Whiteley Shopping Village - Botley Wood
Leave the shopping village, walking past the fountains on the pavement side of the road. Cross two roads to reach the other side of the roundabout and a blue pedestrian sign. Turn right at the sign to go along a tarmac path across a small bridge. Then turn left onto a well-maintained gravelly track.
At a waymarker post covered in yellow arrows and mostly hidden behind a hawthorn bush turn right. Follow this wide track to enter Whiteley Pastures, an area of Forestry Commission land. Once here, it is as if the outlet village never existed.
This woodland area is home to Hampshire's largest nightingale population, so keep your ears open for their distinctive song.
Follow the track for half your walking time, and then return the same way.
Facilities
Free car park. Ample shopping facilities, including banks and cashpoints. Dogs (except Guide Dogs) are not permitted in the shopping areas, but do find a welcome on the terrace of Frankie and Bennies close to the entrance.
