Getting There

Leave the M40 at Junction 9 to take the A34 Oxford, Northbound 1st exit, Southbound 3rd exit.
Take the 1st turning on the left, signed Middleton Stoney B430.
Drive over the dual carriageway, and at a mini-roundabout turn left, signed motorway.
Park at The Chequers Country Inn on the right hand side.
Return to M40 Junction 9
Turn right out of the car park, and then turn left onto the dual carriageway, signed A34, M40 to return to the motorway.
The Chequers, Weston on the Green
By happy coincidence the Oxfordshire Way long distance footpath starts right in the Chequers' car park – walk towards the rear of the ‘bar entrance' and then climb at stile on the left to enter a field.
Walk with the car park fence on the left, and when this fence runs out turn right. The path can be indistinct when the grass is long.
Continue to a metal gate with a yellow way-marker in a half left direction, and follow the path through a copse.
At the kissing gate follow the yellow arrow half left across a field and as the field narrows, keep going to a metal swing gate in the far corner. Cross a wooden footbridge and then follow the arrow to head half-right into a field. Aim for the wooden gate ahead, where a further arrow will point you to walk with the woodland to the left.
At a wooden footbridge leading onto a lane, there is the option to extend this walk by taking either one of the yellow arrows to the left, or to the right. For a 30 minute walk this is the turn-around point to reverse the route and return to the car park.
Facilities
At The Chequers well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the bar area and also in the garden bar. Dog water is provided.
There's also a selection of food for hungry dog walkers.
