Map of M40 Junction 11 Walk

Length of walk approx 40 minutes. Wellies/boots needed in wet weather.

Walk out of the car park and turn right down the road. Cross over to the Public Footpath sign to Thenford and walk down the paved driveway. On the left, before you reach Middleton Farm, climb over the stile by the public footpath sign on the left and walk forward with Middleton Farm on your right. If there is tape across the pathway, climb over it – it is there to keep horses in.

Walk to and over the next stile, and keep heading straight ahead towards the trees. Climb over the stile and go through a small metal gate and follow the arrow slightly to the right across the next field. There may be sheep in this field.

Climb over the next stile and follow the arrow across the next field. You can see Thenford slightly to your left. Go through the gate and over the next stile. Follow the arrow pointing you to the right, following the path with the hedge on your right. Look out for a large badger sett here.

When you reach the corner of the field, turn left keeping the hedge on your right. Walk to the end of the field. Go through the grey metal gate. It is possible to walk straight on to Thenford which is now very close, or to turn left and immediately left again through the wooden gate to enter a copse with a pool at the bottom.

Now turn round and retrace your steps to the New Inn and your car.
