Map of M42 Junction 11 Walk

Length of walk: 35-40 minutes

Leave the Black Horse car park and turn right, and then immediately left into Black Horse Hill.

As the road bends round to the left, turn right to go through a metal swing gate by the footpath sign just to the left of ‘Apple Tree House'. This brings you into a field, where you walk forward with the hedge on your right. Continue to the corner of the field, passing a couple of yellow waymarkers and a small depot.

Follow the blue waymark arrow to the left, through a metal gate, and then half left through the centre of the crops in the field ahead. The path is very clear. At the end of this field, the farmer has put in some extra signs to ensure that you stay on the footpath!

Follow the yellow arrow through a gap in the hedgerow, and then turn left into the next field towards the yellow waymarker ahead. The hedge should be to your left.

Cross the small footbridge to enter the next field, full of waist high rape this May, and follow the very clear path through the crop. At the end of the field aim for a yellow-topped post, and then through a metal gate to turn left onto a quiet and sleepy lane (Black Horse Hill).

Follow the lane up a gentle incline, and turn right at the end to return to the Black Horse.
