The Severn Way Path – Severn Way Services

By happy chance these motorway services sit right on the long distance Severn Way path, so this walk couldn't be easier to fit into your journey.
From the car park walk past the petrol station and Travelodge to skirt the base of a grassy knoll heading towards an office building (the old motorway services building). Here there is a waymarker post where you turn right to go into the woodland.
Follow the path as it leads downwards, and at the bottom of the slope follow the path round to the right.
At the wooden kissing gate go straight on into the field beyond, walking with the river on the left and field to the right to the next kissing gate. There's a sensational view of the estuary and the first bridge from here.
Walk through the next field, with the strange concrete tower to the right. From here the line of the path is clear to see as it drops down a small but steep hill to the next gate.
Continue on this path, always with the river to the left, until your dog is halfway satisfied and then turn round to return on the same path.
At over 200 miles this path is the longest riverside path in Britain , so don't forget to turn round to return to your car!
