Getting There

Sat Nav: WV10 7JR
Leave the M54 at Junction 1 and take the A460 signed Cannock, Eastbound 1st exit, Westbound 3rd exit.
At the traffic lights go straight on.
Enter Shareshill.
Turn left into Church Road, signed ‘The Elms' and Shareshill.
Park in the car park of the Elms, on the left.
Return to M54 Junction 1
Turn right out of the car park. At the T-junction turn right onto the A460. This road leads directly the M54 Junction 1.
Shareshill – The Elms

Leave the car park and turn left onto Church Road. Pass the village stores and post office on the right, and then turn left following Church Road and then along a gravel entrance way to reach the church.
The footpath passes to the left of the unusual church building, and through the main and over-spill churchyards beyond.
Go through the gate in the far left corner and enter a field. At this point there is a choice of direction with one waymarker pointing straight ahead, and the other to the right.
In wet weather, the less muddy option would be to go straight on. The path leads through two good sized fields, and then onto a country lane. Turn right here and then almost immediately left to follow a track. We turned round after 10 minutes, or so, on this track to complete a 40 minute walk.
In drier weather, the path to the right is more enticing as there is more space for dogs to run around (livestock permitting). The path leads down to a stile and a field beyond. At the end of the next field is a lane, where we turned back.
