Getting There
Leave the M55 at Junction 4 and continue forward on the A5230 signed Airport/Seashore.
Stay on the A5230 at two roundabouts and at the seafront traffic lights go straight on to get to the car park.
Return to M55 Junction 4
Exit the car park and go straight ahead at the traffic lights, and continue on the A5230 to join the motorway.
Blackpool Beach
The car park is practically on the beach, so just head down there and turn to the left. The beach is separated from the sea road by sand dunes. The beach here is vast when the tide is out, with miles of open space to enjoy and a fair trot down to the water.
Definitely worth taking all the balls and Frisbees with you, and don't expect to see any humans unaccompanied by dogs.
We were here on a Sunday morning, and saw dog walker after dog walker heading for the beach. Dog heaven, and well worth the 70p parking charge.
Remember the poo bags – there are stiff fines for fouling the beach.
Facilities
P&D car park, 70p for 2 hours. WCs over the tram tracks, 20p. Café, dog poo bins.
And all that Blackpool has to offer on the main seafront nearby.
