Getting There
Leave the M56 at Junction 6, northbound traffic take the 2nd exit, southbound traffic turn right at the traffic lights, both routes taking the A538 signed Wilmslow. Go through a tunnel, under the airport runway.
At the roundabout take the 2nd exit signed A538 Wilmslow.
Pass the Boddington Arms on the right and immediately turn right, and then quickly left into the unsigned car park for Lindow Common.
Return to M56 Junction 6
Turn right out of the car park and at the T-junction turn left onto the main road.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit signed M56, Altrincham A538.
Turn left at the traffic lights for the M56 Southbound, and continue straight for the M56 Northbound.
Lindow Common
There are well maintained paths here leading into the heathland, and the most obvious path from the car park leads deliciously deeper into the heather.
In wet weather, the further you go into the heather the more necessary the wellies become.
This is an area where you and the dogs wander at will, enjoying the sensations of this timeless land.
The adjoining Lindow Moss is famous for the Iron Age corpse found in it. But the marshy area is not always safe, and is not recommended for walking dogs on.
Facilities
Free car park. Dog poo bins at the entrance to the common.
At the Boddington Arms dogs are welcome outside only. Dog water available on request.
