Map of M56 Junction 7 Walk

This is a National Trust property where there are restrictions on off-lead walking. Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the house and grounds.

As a dog walking destination this isn't always perfect, but if you are trying to juggle the demands and interests of friends and family there is a lot here to occupy everyone happily, not least the cream teas!

A free walks leaflet is provided, and in it you'll learn that the large and doggy enticing Deer park requires dogs to be on leads all through the year. If that suits your dog, then this is the direction to aim for.

For off-lead walking, the small picnic area and surrounding woods has been designated.

Otherwise, follow the footpath in the direction of the museum and pass it with the WCs to the left. Take the steps next to a white gate and follow the path that passes between two fields. Then turn to the right, marked with a green sign to walk down a tarmac lane towards the trees ahead. There is occasional traffic on the lane as it is a residential access road. Turn right at the end to return to the car park.
