Getting There
Leave the M57 at Junction 2.
Northbound – take the 1st exit signed A57 Prescot. At the next roundabout take the 4th exit, signed B5199 Huyton.
Southbound – take the 3rd exit signed B5199 Huyton.
Then, both routes, take the 2nd exit at a mini-roundabout to drive over the motorway and passing a golf club on the left hand side.
Take the 2nd left, Whiston Lane, signed Dogs Trust.
Drive under a railway bridge, past the Dogs Trust kennels and turn left at the T-junction into Pottery Lane.
The car park is on the right, unsigned, soon after the bridge.
Return to M57 Junction 2
Turn left out of the car park. Turn right, opposite the Quarry Inn. At the T-junction turn right.
At the mini-roundabout take the 1st exit to return to the M57 Junction 2.
Stadt Moers Country Park
Stadt Moers Park has been regenerated from waste land and is now a thriving natural environment with meadow, woodland and ponds all criss-crossed by footpaths and spread over 220 acres.
The paths are clearly colour coded, and include circular routes suitable for wheelchairs.
To reach the main part of the park, go past the Environment Centre and through a tunnel under the motorway to the starting point for all the trails.
There are plenty of dogs exercising their humans here and if your dog prefers a less hectic social environment, there is also the option to leave the car park away from the park, cross the road to the green footpath sign and use the footpath for some good off-lead walking in the direction of Coronation Drive for just under a mile there and back.
Facilities
Free car/coach park, Visitor Centre, WCs and disabled WC (when visitor centre is open), and possibly the largest dog poo bin in the UK in the car park.
