Mersey Valley Walks, in Trafford Water Park

There are three signed trails in Trafford Water Park (also known as Sale Park) for dogs to enjoy, all well signed from the visitor centre and easy to reach from the car park.
Note that dogs are discouraged from the marked Trail 4 in Priory Gardens in order to protect the nesting birds.
The first trail, the Chorlton Water Park Trail can be joined by walking down to the River Mersey and then turning right and following the marked path (2 miles approx).
The Sale Water Park route (3) starts at the car park, and the path leads around the perimeter of the lake and down to the Mersey over about 3 miles. This path comes closer to the visitor centre and facilities.
Another possibility is simply to walk down to the river, and follow the riverbank path for as long as you want. This will need wellies in wet weather.
Facilities
Free car park (gated), WC, café, picnic area.
