Getting There

Leave the M61 at Junction 6 to take the A6027 signed Chorley, Northbound 1st exit, Southbound 3rd exit.
At the roundabout take the 1st exit, signed A6 and Haigh Hall Country Park.
Turn right, signed B5239 Wigan, and brown sign to Haigh Hall Country Park, Diccoson Lane.
Enter Aspul, and continue straight over a mini-roundabout.
At the double roundabout, continue straight following signs to Haigh Hall, on Haigh Road.
Turn left just before the Balcarris Arms and continue down this lane to find car parks on the left and right side.
Return to M61 Junction 6
Leave the park and turn right at the T-junction by the Balcarris Arms.
At the double roundabout continue straight on, signed M6, Bolton B5239 – Bolton Road.
Straight on again at the mini-roundabout.
At the traffic lights turn left, signed M6, Chorley A6.
At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit signed M6, Bolton A6027 to return to the M61.
Haigh Country Park
Haigh Country Park is large, and very popular with families during the school holidays. We followed local dog walkers to find open ground with the least number of people.
Walk past the visitor centre down the hill to the left, in the direction of Haigh Hall, and this is where the canine community can be found enjoying the greenery off-lead. There are no set routes, just plenty of space for canine capers. The higher ground gives a panoramic view of the Reebok Stadium, and Bolton .
Well marked and maintained Woodland Trails start from the visitor centre, and the paths are mostly hard-surfaced.
Facilities
Pay & Display car parks, £1.50 per day. WC, café, gift shop, visitor centre, children's play area, picnic area. Note: no dog poo bins.
