Risley Moss Nature Reserve

Map of M62 Junction 11 Walk

This is a park that has seen some history, and yet survived to be an incredibly quiet and peaceful dog walking venue.

There are over 200 acres of natural space to enjoy, with some well-signed trails as well as the opportunity to wander off-path and just soak up the surroundings.

There is an easy-access path which is fully accessible and 650m.

The Nature Trail is 1.6km and leads through the trees on a well-maintained path.

Risley Moss is a site of special scientific interest due to the fact its peat has more or less survived industrialisation and marauding garden centres, and a regeneration project is underway to ‘re-wet' the peat.
