Getting There

Sat Nav: PR6 8DP
Leave the M65 at Junction 3 and take the A675 signed Bilton, Eastbound 4th exit, Westbound 1st exit.
Enter Abbey village and park at the Hare and Hounds on the left hand side at the far end of the village.
Return to M65 Junction 3
Turn right out of the car park and stay on this road to rejoin the motorway.
Roddlesworth reservoirs

Walk out of the car park to the public footpath sign on the left. There's a choice of two walks here.
Reservoir Walk
For the reservoir walk, continue down the metal track to the reservoir where a circular path will take you as far around as you wish to walk. This path is fully accessible. The drawback is a sign requesting that dogs are kept on the lead at all times. If your dog is happy with this, then it's a very scenic, enjoyable, flat walk.
Fields and reservoir walk
The second option is to turn left, signed footpath, onto a tarmac path, cross a cattlegrid and continue through the field. The path leads through a ménage and past a farm, where the footpath signs disappear. We combined the two walks by starting with the fields for some off-lead freedom and then went on to the reservoir.
Facilities

At the Hare and Hounds. Well-behaved dogs are welcome inside the pub, and dog treats and water are provided. If you're planning to eat here, we'd suggest you do so before the walk as the portions are enormous! There is limited disabled parking by the reservoir.
