Reddish Vale Country Park

This is a wonderful dog walking park, and the wildness of the park surprises too, given that it lies in the middle of urban Manchester and a tangle of different motorways. Once a calico and dye works, the transformation into rural wonder is truly impressive.
There are a number of signed paths and routes through the park, and full details of these can be obtained from the visitor centre if required.
Walks start across the bridge, and paths are clear and well maintained. Dogs with a passion for water will revel in the river path and the chance to wallow in the shallow, clean river. Reach this by turning left by a viaduct, but note that short-legged dogs may need help in getting back onto the path safely.
Facilities

Free parking. There is a tea room at the Farm entrance (limited opening). At the main, 2nd entrance: free gated car park, WC, visitor centre, picnic area, dog poo bins in car park. A mobility scooter can be hired free of charge from the visitor centre, call 0161 4775637 to book.
