Posted on Tuesday, 13th April 2010 - 9:17am in Articles by Lezli

Rescue Dogs is a unique website that gives dog rescue centres and animal shelters across the UK and Ireland the opportunity to publicise their overlooked dogs for adoption. Some of these dogs have been waiting months or even years to find a home. They come in all shapes and sizes and for one reason or another their kennels are always passed by.

Walk, or Walkies? What's the difference?

Posted on Thursday, 25th February 2010 - 11:14am in Articles by Lezli

Walkers with dogs have their eyes on a different landscape.  A rabbit is not a furry piece of atmos – it’s a warning that Fido might give chase and go straight across a busy road; a seagull is not the soul of a sailor – it’s an object to chase that might see your pooch flying off a cliff top....

Dogs welcome, pubs

Posted on Wednesday, 21st October 2009 - 9:03pm in Articles by Lezli

One of the best things about a walk with the dog is the visit to the pub at the end!

Driving with Dogs now has a new listings section for dog-welcoming pubs, so that you can find the perfect log fire and a glass of wine - or pint of superb ale - for you and the pooch.

Just like the Driving with Dogs walks, you can rate the pubs - and make comments too. And you can add dog friendly pubs as well!

MOTORWAY WALKS - The Book

With nearly 200 walks from the Driving with Dogs website, this handy little book is an ideal guide to the best dog-friendly pubs and dog walks within 5 miles of UK motorway exits. Like the website walks, you'll also find information about campervan access, disabled facilities, kids' activities, safe parking places, sat-nav codes and written route directions too.

Driving with Dogs is working with the Border Collie Trust GB to bring you the Motorway Walks book at £9.99 (plus p&p). Every book sold will include a donation to the work of the Trust. Jem, the collie who has tested all the motorway walks, is a Border Collie Trust rescue and we're delighted that donations from the book he inspired will go back to helping the Trust with their work.
