Carnmoney Hill, Belfast, County Antrim

Description

Ideal dog walking on a hill that's called 'the cairn on a boggy mountain' - because of the tomb with a view at the top.

The woodland is maintained and tended by the Woodland Trust, with the help of volunteers.

Walks

There's comfortable strolling here without the need of defined routes, although there are two trails. The woodland walk leads through the trees to a viewpoint to Belfast Lough.  The 'Hilltop' walk is a 2 hour there and back route to the top of Carnmoney hill with fantastic views of the city and beyond.

Directions

See directions from your postcode

From the M2, follow signs onto the M5. At the end of the motorway take the Carrickfergus direction at the roundabout.
At the next roundabout take the first left (Station Road), signed Glengormley. After about one mile go straight over a mini roundabout onto the B531 (O'Neill Road). Turn first right after the traffic lights onto Knockenagh Avenue and then  park at the Rathfern Community Centre  after a few minutes of speed bumps.
