Sheringham Park, Norfolk

A beautifully landscaped park which is open all year, and there are plenty of woodlands to scamper around too. There's lots of great walking to be done here, and the views of the local countryside are splendid.

Sheringham Park dog walks

There are miles of paths to follow here which link up to the local footpath network. So if you're not careful you could find yourself on the coast and off along the Norfolk Coast Path. But there's plenty to see at Sheringham Park. The parkland is beautifully landscaped and lovers of rhododendrons will never want to leave.

For visitors with limited mobility, the park is partially accessible. There are grass and hard paths to follow, but the ground does have a lot of up and down.

Dogs are able to run freely, but need to be on-lead near the facilities and any livestock.

From the A148 south of Sheringham, turn up the B1157 towards Upper Sheringham. Turn left to reach the car park.

With nearly 200 walks from the Driving with Dogs website, this handy little book is an ideal guide to the best dog-friendly pubs and dog walks within 5 miles of UK motorway exits.

Like the website walks, you'll also find information about campervan access, disabled facilities, kids' activities, safe parking places, sat-nav codes and written route directions too.

Walking the Dog: Motorway Walks for dogs and drivers is available from the RAC shop (link URL http://www.racshop.co.uk/rac-books.html) and all the usual online bookstores such as amazon.
