Description

This is a great place to start exploring the Argyll Forest, and many of the waymarked trails begin here. The botanical gardens are delightful too.

The Black Gates waymarked trail is a short 1 mile forest path.  Other marked forest trails will take you to the wonderful Kilmun Arboretum or to Puck's Glen (2 miles)

There's also a path along the shore of Loch Eck.

See directions from your postcode

from Glasgow, follow the A82 along Loch Lomond. Then take the A83 over the Rest and Be Thankful, towards Oban, Inveraray and Dunoon. Turn onto the A815 towards Dunoon.

The Forestry Commission Inverchapel car park entrance is opposite the Stratheck Holiday Park.
