We have now used the Canal stop on two occassions. After you cross the narrow river bridge, turn right on the bend then immediately left into Vicarage Lane, following the blue canal signs (we missed them twice, but spotted them in the end). Follow the lane which eventually turns left and into a single lane track. Just as you begin to think you are heading in the wrong direction, you will be rewarded with a lovely secluded car park, with picnic benches and a lovely stretch of canal to explore.

The car park side tow path is also a cycle route, which was quite busy on both occassions. Cross over the bridge to the opposite side though and you will find two lovely public footpaths through the fields where you can let the dogs off the lead for a good romp.

The paths were very popular with local dog owners and we met some lovely people. Do make sure you clean up after you dogs and make full use of the poo bins near the bridge.

Please note for Walk 1 that the closed Riverside Inn has been converted to a private dwelling. The car park is now private and fenced and gated. You can easily park in the canal car park as for Walk 2 and walk back down Vicarage Lane to Bull Street.
