Sea Haven

Description

Situated in the traditional seaside town of Girvan this semi-detached red sandstone holiday home offers substantial accommodation throughout and is located only 300 yards from a sandy beach. Girvan offers a harbour with sightseeing (including ’Glorious’ the only boat that has permission to land at the bird sanctuary on Aisla Craig), the ’Waverley’ (the last sea going paddle steamer in the world - late Jun-end Aug), fishing boat trips, a lovely beach, swimming pool, boating lake, playpark and a good variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are superb views of Ailsa Criag, Arran and the Kintyre. This corner of South West Ayrshire is renowned for its unspoilt scenery and particularly mild climate throughout the year. The area is the perfect spot for the outdoor enthusiast. There are excellent golf courses: the world famous Turnberry is only 3 miles away with many other 18-hole golf courses nearby, including an excellent semi-links within easy walking distance. Galloway Forest is close by for cycling and walking. There are the usual field sports, excellent rivers for fishing and superb routes for walking. Ayr racecourse is 20 miles to the north. Ayrshire offers a varying coastline with villages, beaches and rocky coves to explore. Inland there is walking, gardens and castles to visit, riding, racing and a choice of golf courses. Culzean Castle (owned by the National Trust for Scotland) is spectacular and is Ayrshire’s most popular tourist attraction. The Burns Heritage Centre, another NT site, is at Alloway, 18 miles to the north. Trips to Ireland can be taken from Stranraer, and the Arran/Islay ferry is close by at Ardrossan. Shops 200 yards, pub 400 yards.
