Mountain bikes are available for hire at Keldy Forest, there is a children’s play area and visitors can join a number of ranger led activities. Close by is the thriving market town of Pickering, gateway to the popular coastal resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby - a trip on the steam train from Pickering to Whitby takes in some of the finest views in the county.

The historic city of York offers a great day out. There is a shop and coffee lounge at Keldy Forest and Pickering boasts shops, pubs and restaurants.
