It offers first class attractions such as the Sea Life Maritime Sanctuary, the Stephen Joseph Theatre - home of playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourne - and the refurbished Rotunda Museum. Music lovers can visit the Spa Complex, home of the only remaining seaside orchestra, or Peasholm Park which offers open air concerts and a variety of family entertainments. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is close by with its famous steam railway, which offers a relaxing ride through the stunning moorland and forest. A day out can be enjoyed at Castle Howard, 15 miles, set in an elevated position against the Howardian Hills and the location for the filming of Brideshead Revisited.
