Visited Formby Point again today, still one of our favourite dog walks. Few if any dog restrictions and great mix of sea, clean sand, dunes and pine forest. Even red squirrels if you are lucky enough. National Trust car park is £4.00, gets busy at weekends in good weather. Once you are on the car park facilities are toilets and ice cream so stock up at the shops near the railway crossing before you go to the car park. No alcohol or barbecues allowed on the site. A fantastic beach for man and beast alike, the mixture of beach and woodland make this walk interesting for dogs with plenty to see and do. Only thing to watch is it can get busy during hot weather and bank holidays and not everyone is dog friendly! Also worth mentioning is that horses are allowed so just worth watching out for these galloping along the beach.
