St Merryn itself has restaurants, shops and pubs, including the Cornish Arms which is owned by Rick Stein and is approximately 2 miles from these properties. Ideally located for many of the tourist attractions this area has to offer, including Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin, Boscastle and Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur. Also close by are seven sandy bays dotted along this part of the coastline. From Padstow you can take a trip over to Seal Island or wander round the narrow streets and browse the many interesting shops. You can also enjoy the variety of pubs and restaurants including Rick Stein’s famous fish restaurant. From Padstow you can walk or cycle along the Camel Trail which runs along the Camel Estuary with its abundance of wildlife, and takes you to Wadebridge and beyond to Bodmin. You are within easy reach of the many gardens that Cornwall has to offer, including the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Along the coast you will find Newquay with its famous surfing beaches, zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium. Shops, pubs and restaurant 1½ miles.
