Set in a spectacular location, surrounded by the stunning scenery of Ennerdale, these well presented former farm workers cottages have been totally restored and adjoin the owner’s home. Standing within 30 acres of farmland in the uncommercialised western area of the Lake District National Park, there is a delightful 4 minute walk down to the River Ehen where you can enjoy tranquillity, fish for salmon and trout, or have a dip! Each cottage is well-equipped and furnished and has a woodburner, making them a superb all year round base for a holiday in this beautiful area. A variety of birds and red squirrels are regular garden visitors. Easy road access to the quieter western lakes and fells, Ennerdale Water 2 miles. Cumbrian Coast 10 miles. Walking, cycling, climbing and riding locally. Free fishing in season by arrangement. Cockermouth and the Georgian port of Whitehaven, both 10 miles. Shops 3 miles, two pubs serving meals in Ennerdale Bridge ½ mile.

All properties: Woodburner in living room inc. NSH, elec, bed linen and towels inc. DVD. Stereo/CD. Elec cooker. M/wave. Washer/dryer. F/freezer. Shared use of 30-acres grounds with sitting-out area and furniture. Ample parking. No smoking. Friday to Friday. NB: River in grounds, 200 metres.

Ground floor: Living room with beams. 1 step down to second living room with beams. Dining room/kitchen with flagged floor. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 single with additional pull-out single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

T/cot. H/chair. Two dogs welcome, under strict control, to be kept on lead at all times (sheep country).
