Copper Beech Lodge

Description

This charming detached lodge was the gatehouse for an Edwardian Lakeland country estate. Built of traditional Lakeland stone and slate it stands in its own pretty garden in pleasant natural woodland. There is a wealth of wildlife to be observed from this comfortably furnished and well equipped cottage. Lake access is through the wood (3-minute walk) to a small private shared beach area, superb for picnicking, barbecues and swimming in the lake. There is also a Canadian canoe with various sizes of buoyancy aids available (used at guests’ own risk). The front of the lodge faces Beacon Fell and there are walks from the house up to Beacon Tarn with superb views. There are numerous other walks varying from gentle strolls to long hikes from the doorsteps. You probably won’t want to move from this idyllic little corner but being close to the South Western shore of Coniston Water, it is ideally placed for exploring the Lake District and there are plenty of attractions and activities within a short drive. Good cycling and fishing opportunities. An ideal holiday base. Coniston village with shops, 5 miles, pub 3 miles.
