Fishing, riding, golf and good inns are all close by. Appleby, 3 miles, with shops and a castle, is famous for its colourful Horse Fair in June. The Eden Valley, Lake District , Ullswater ½ hour’s drive, and Yorkshire Dales are all within easy reach. Shops 3 miles.
