Very sweet village inn, with a pretty garden and friendly atmosphere. Dogs, families and strangers made to feel welcome. Definitely try one of the ocal ciders if you're not driving.
Small car park just beyond the pub, and on-street l and ininear parking in front ot the pub
The big walk around here is Dolebury Warren and Black Down. If you're after a full day's walk, then you're best off parking in one of the walkers' car parks further east and aiming to reach the Crown for a pub lunch along your way. For a shorter walk to give the dog a legstretch simply walk along the lane in front of the pub (not Skinners Lane) and into the woodland ahead. At a fork in the path go straight on with the middle path and then enjoy a ramble in the woods. Any left turn will take you towards the A38 so ignore all turnings on the left.
