Description

A popular Green Flag park, created over a former colliery. It's clear that this is a much loved park, there's a really friendly atmosphere and happy looking dog walkers.  Several marked trails through and around the park, including an easy access one.

Full Walk Details

Handy maps and walk guide leaflets can be picked up at the ranger office in the park.There are four signed trails:

1.  The Easy Access trail is approximately 30 minutes, level, and ideal for  wheelchairs and buggies.  It's a circular route from the car park with a couple of digressions to a secluded glade and a viewpoint.  There are other easy access paths with slight gradients around Bag Pool and the Amphitheatre.

2. Toposcope Trail - approximately 35 minutes.  From the car park, this trail goes to Bag Pool and then up to the top of the pit mounds. Here you get a magnificent view of the park and surrounding area.

3. Baggeridge Circular Walk - approximately 1 hour. This is a good route, muddy in wet weather.

4. Baggeridge Wood Walk - approximately 1 hour 30 minutes  Scenic route on public footpaths through the private part of Baggeridge Wood.
