A large local park on the Thames Estuary overlooked by the remains of an old castle. This is an ideal place for dog walking and the views across the estuary are superb.
WC+disabled, tearoom at the Salvation Army Farm, picnic area. P&D car park
There are a three clearly signed trails to follow from the car park. The grey walk is a short, hilly walk leading to a viewpoint, but it does offer some of the best views in Essex as it overlooks the Thames estuary across to Kent. The blue walk offers great views of the estuary and the castle, and the black walk (the longest of the three) covers much more woodland, although it does pass near the railway line for a short distance.
The network of paths around the park offers visitors the chance to really stretch their legs whilst enjoying superb views along the way.
