Hamdon Hill Country Park dog walks, Somerset

Description

Centred around an Iron Age fortress, this historic location is just the place for dogs who enjoy walking in the hills and through woodland. The views across Somerset are well worth the effort.

Walk

There's 400 acres of countryside to walk around here with many paths criss-crossing the park. Many of the paths are well maintained. There are a number of disused quarries which are well signed, and parts of the park are used for sheep grazing, so be aware of these.  For disabled visitors there is an "All Ability" track which starts near the car park. An off-road scooter is available for hire.

Lovely place - warning has a bit of a hill climb

We really enjoyed this as a quick stop off for our cocker spaniel to run around. Has nice paths and a few benches. Next time I want to try the pubs nearby - a local recommended the Prince of Wales pub
