Full Walk Details

Leave car park onto Town head turn left and after crossing caanal cross road and take ramp or steps down onto towpath. Head east along canal passing Twechar and reaching Auchinstarry Marina after 8 km. Cross over canal to reach Boathouse Pub, Restuarant. From garden head uphill in southernly direction to reach signposts for Antonine Wall. Turn right and cross road follow track uphill and through woods to reach section oh Roman wall to your right, follow line of wall uphill to reach trig point and shortly after the site of Bar Hill Roman Fort and Bath-house. Leave site by Gate on far side and follow track down hill to reach Twechar. Turn right at road and continue to downhill until you cross canal. Turn left and follow towpath back to Kirkintilloch.
