When the lakes at Earlswood were created to top up the canal system, a few enterprising souls realised that Earlswood had tourist potential. Before long, day trippers from Brum were coming out to the lakes by train and heading towards the Red Lion for refreshments and boat trips. The train stop for the lakes is still a 'halt' where you have to flag the train down to get on. How do people get off?
Also under 3 miles from Junction 3 of the M42.
