Description

Visit the village where Thomas Crapper (populiser of the flush WC) was born, and enjoy a dog walk along the banks of the Don. It's very atmospheric and interesting. And about 20 seconds from the motorway.  "Trundlepup" reviewed this walk and points out that the path is horrible on a wet day - so this is best as a dry weather summer walk.

Full Walk Details

Length of walk: 45-60 minutes.   Walk along the short lane and at the last house take the track to the right of the post and then turn right at the stile and Public Footpath sign. Keep walking with the water to the right on a pleasant grassy track and over a couple more stiles. All the stiles have spaces for dogs to get round or under.   At the end of the watery ditch walk up the bank on the right and turn right on a raised path that runs at the side of a large flood plain, giving dogs a huge amount of space to run in.   Stay on this path and pass the village over on the other side of the bank. At the end of the village the path leads to a 5-bar gate. Go over the stile here and turn right onto a track that leads back to the starting point.
