A22 Ashdown Forest dog walks, East Sussex
This part of the forest is known as Warren Pease, so we expected to see lots of rabbit burrows. Wrong! This is a heath rather than dense woodland part of the forest.

A great walk across heathland and heading towards an iconic location in the history of rock music. Dogs will feel very content after a run around here.
Dogs have a heavenly time in the absolutely enormous forest here. It's quite close to the A22 and makes a perfect place to stop for a relaxing walk with the dog.
The forest centre is so low-key it's easy to miss it completely. But this is the only car park in the forest that has WCs and touristic information.

Fully accessible 14km leisure walk over the bed of a former railway line. So it's pretty flat too. The parking here is more or less in the middle of the route. Handy for the A22.
In his book "Rural Rides", William Cobbett was not a fan of the Forest. Happily, it is the opinion of dogs that matters and they will have a marvellous romp through the trees and heathland.
The dog-friendly pub here is very handy for a break off the A22, and the dog walk takes you on a very pretty stretch of the Wealdway.
