Forest trail in the Snowdonia national park, with plenty for non-walkers to see and do in the village.
Enormous expanse of pine forest (more than 900 acres), rough boggy ground and some well made paths in one of the least populated parts of the country. It's a dogs' delight!
There are no stiles or road walking on this dog walk, although there may be some sheep on the hills. It's a fantastic space for walks and loads of fresh air.
One of the best hill fort remains in England, although the earthworks are all you see today. It must have been a really imposing centre all those years ago.
Remote, stile-free walking in a relatively little visited corner of the Snowdonia national park.
This country park is on the banks of the River Dee and in the shadow of the Cefn Viaduct. It's a great place to relax and take the dog for a stroll. Dogs need to be kept on leads.
Paths through the woods, safe for off lead
Marvellous dog-friendly pub and well worth making a detour for. Jem loves it here because they have carpet, and he can get really comfortable for a snooze.
Very popular walkers' lake (and fishermen too), so avoid at weekends in the summer and enjoy on weekdays out of season. On a good day, the atmos is unbeatable.
This is a lovely pub for enjoying the view over the village green and duck pond on a warm Sunday afternoon.
Upmarket and dog-friendly establishment with an amazing terrace hanging over the river. The mill wheel still turns - not for grinding corn anymore though.
